AISI D2 is a cold work tool steel. Cold work dies steel D2 tool steel with high abrasion resistance, micro-deformation, the wind hard tool steel, carbon content as high as 1.5%, chromium content as high as 11.5%, the heat treatment hardness can reach 60 HRC. D2 tool steel heat treatment
- Forging of D2 die steel
Preheat to 700 °C, Then rapidly heat to 900-1040 °C. Start to forge the D2 steel fabrication.
- Annealing of D2 cold work tool steel
Heat to 900 °C, soak enough time. cool in the furnace until to room temperature.
- Quenching of AISI D2 tool steel
For improve d2 tool steel hardness, Quenching is needed. Heat to 1010°C, heat thoroughly, cool in air.
- Tempering of Tool Steel D2
After Quenching, according to different tool requirement, Tempering at different temperature. Typical data as below:
