Applications of 1.3243(M35) steel material
1.3243(M35) steel is a typical alloy Tool steel, Its Hot work Mechanical Properties is very nice. It is that the US air-hardening high speed steel, the steel-casting industry is one of Europe’s three most common hot die steel. steel carbide small, uniform distribution, resistance to thermal fatigue resistance and corrosion properties good, good hot and cold workability, hardenability well in temperature has a thicker heat forced, oxidation resistance, high toughness and wear resistance
Forging of 1.3243(M35) steel material
At first, preheat slowly to 750°C then increase the temperature more rapidly to 900-1100 °C. Do not forge below 850°C. Then cool the 1.3243 slowly in furnace after forging.
Annealing of 1.3243(M35) steel material
And AISI 1.3243(M35) tool steel is delivered condition normal at annealing and machineable. If need re-annealing. Heat the 1.3243(M35) steel and Soak thoroughly to 790~820°C, then cool in furnace. After annealing, the 1.3243(M35) delivery hardness is 300HB Max.
Stress Relieving of 1.3243(M35) steel material
When must tools made from 1.3243(M35) alloy tool steel are heavily machine or ground , the relief of internal strains is advisable before hardening to minimise the possibility of distortion. Stress relieving is very necessary, stress relieving should be done after rough machining.
Hardening of 1.3243 steel material
AISI 1.3243(M35) Delivery condition usually is Annealing, so hardening is necessary. Heat the 1.3243(M35) tools in a controlled atmosphere furnace, if have not the controlled furnace, pack hardening is recommended strongly.
Quenching heating temperature / ℃ | heating: 450 ~ 600
Quenching heating temperature / ℃ | a preheating: 850
Quenching heating temperature / ℃ | second preheating: 1050
Quenching heating temperature / ℃ | last heating: 1200 ~ 1240
Tempering of 1.3243(M35) steel material
Heat the AISI 1.3243(M35) to 550-570°C, Heat uniformly to the required temperature allowing a soaking time of two hours per 25mm of ruling section. Withdraw from the furnace and allow it cool in air. Different tempering temperature will get different hardness.
Welding of 1.3243(M35) steel material
In general, we do not advise the welding of alloy tool steel but users sometimes prefer to weld in order to avoid the cost of retooling. It should be remembere that this grade is an air hardening steel and that in welding the area of the weld attains a temperature of about 1000°C. Cracking is likely to occur during cooling unless proper precautions are taken. Popular methods of welding are atomic hydrogen and argon arc. We recommend you contact your welding consumables supplier who should provide you full assistance and information on welding alloy tool steels.
Nitriding of 1.3243(M35) steel material
1.3243(M35) alloy tool steel can be nitride to give a hard surface case. After the nitriding heat treatment, the 1.3243(M35) is then very resistant to wear and erosion. Nitriding also increases resistance to corrosion.
Final Grinding of 1.3243(M35) steel material
Grinding the AISI 1.3243(M35) Steel. Select the correct grade of wheel in consultation with the grinding wheel manufacturer. Ensure the grinding wheel is in good condition by means of a suitable dressing tool. Wet grinding is a preferable option using a copious supply of coolant. If dry grinding is resorted to then use a very soft wheel.
