OT718 tool steel Application

OT718 steel Usage is same as the mold steel P20 type, but as a result of better hardenability, superior performance, can make size large, high-grade plastic mold forming parts


Add hard processing

For improve Injection mould life up to 800000 times more, can be implemented on pre hardened steel quenching and low temperature tempering and hard way to achieve. In 500-600 ℃ preheat before quenching when 2-4 hours, and then in 850-880 ℃ heat preservation time (at least 2 hours), into the oil cooled to 50-100 ℃ oil air cooling, hardness after quenching can reach 50 to 52 HRC, so as to prevent cracking should be 200 ℃ low temperature tempering processing, immediately after tempering hardness can keep more than 48 HRC .


Nitriding treatment

Nitriding treatment can get high hardness surface structure, surface hardness after nitriding of 650-700 hv
(57 to 60 HRC) die life can reach more than 1 million times, nitride layer with compact structure, smooth features, mould stripping and wet air and alkali corrosion resistance improved.


Quenching and tempering (Q+T)

Quenching temperature 840 ~ 870 ° C, tempering temperature 200 ~ 500 ° C, 50 to 55 HRC hardness
